In 1997 I had a one to one with Gordon Brown and presented concerns about the hundreds of £millions of taxpayer wasted monies on failed computer/IT projects. I followed up with a letter etc and proposed an urgent review of the IT purchasing policy. Those millions have now grown to in excess of £26 Billion of failed NHS/public service computer systems according to recent media reports.
In 2009 Gordon Brown stated that '
we need a code of conduct for MPs'. We still await that code. Chancellor Brown declined to endorse the Democracy Trust code of conduct for MPs in 2001.
